A quiet promise
Privacy,
held carefully.
Everli exists to keep the memory of someone you love. The same care we ask you to bring to that work is the care we bring to your data. This page describes what we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect
We collect only what is needed to operate the service, and we try to ask for it plainly.
- Account information. Your name, email, and (if you choose to sign in with Google) the profile image associated with that account.
- Memorial content. Anything you add to a memorial page — biography, photographs, voice recordings, timeline entries, quotes, guestbook contributions, and the visibility settings you choose.
- Service telemetry. Basic, privacy-respecting logs (page paths, error events, anonymous request metadata) so we can keep the site reliable. No advertising trackers, no cross-site fingerprinting.
- Payment information. If you purchase a plan, payment details are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Run the service, host your memorial pages, and back them up.
- Send essential account email (security, billing, recovery).
- Send the newsletter, only if you ask for it.
- Investigate misuse, fraud, or abuse reports.
We do not sell your data. We do not share memorial content with advertisers. We do not train AI models on your archive, and we do not allow third parties to do so either.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies, and we ask before using any that are not strictly necessary. The first time you visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics; your choice is saved in your browser and you can change it at any time.
- Necessary cookies. Required for the site to work — they keep you signed in, maintain your session, and help protect against fraud. These are always on; the service cannot function without them. Your cookie choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage.
- Analytics cookies. Optional and off by default. Only with your consent do we use privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics, configured with Consent Mode) to understand, in aggregate, which pages help families. No analytics cookies are set until you opt in, and we never use them for advertising or cross-site tracking.
You can accept or decline analytics from the cookie banner, and revisit the choice later by clearing Everli’s site data in your browser. Declining analytics does not limit any feature of the service.
Who else sees it
We rely on a small set of service providers to operate Everli, and they only receive what they need to do their work:
- Hosting and database (so pages load and content persists).
- Email delivery (so account and recovery email arrives).
- Payment processing (so subscriptions can be charged securely).
- Error monitoring (so we notice when something is broken).
Each provider is bound by contract to use your data only on our behalf and to keep it confidential.
Visibility you control
Every memorial has a visibility setting. You can keep a page private, share it with a circle behind a password, or make it public. We will respect that choice. We will never publish a private page, surface it in search engines, or share it with anyone you have not chosen to share it with.
Storage, security, and retention
Data is stored on managed infrastructure in encrypted form, both in transit and at rest. Backups are retained on a rolling window so we can recover from accidental loss. We hold your account and memorial content for as long as your account exists.
Your rights
- Export. You can export the full contents of any memorial you own at any time, in an open, portable format.
- Correction. You can edit or correct any information you have added.
- Deletion. You can delete any memorial, or your whole account, at any time. Once deletion is confirmed, the content is removed from the live service and purged from backups on our standard retention cycle.
- Access & complaint. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or other local laws. We honor those rights for everyone, regardless of jurisdiction.
Children
Everli is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are intended for adults creating or contributing to memorials.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your data, we will note it on this page and, when appropriate, contact you directly before the change takes effect.
Contact
Questions, requests, or concerns about your data can be sent to support@everli.life. A real person will read it and reply.
